"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
- Matthew 28:19-20
MY VOTE: CHRIST!
The U.S. Presidential Election is approximately seven months away. I wonder if our ears and minds can survive another two hundred plus days of political rhetoric. Newspapers, television and the internet are flooded with a parade of claims, counter-claims, refutation and speeches by candidates who are aspiring to rule the world. Hundreds of millions of dollars and countless hours are being spent by three candidates who ultimately want one thing: our vote!
The truth is that elections and presidents come and go but the Word of the Lord stands forever (1 Peter 1:25). Paul writes in Colossians 3:15: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
Real peace is a choice. Real peace doesn’t disappoint or disappear. Real peace comes from knowing Jesus Christ and that we are to obey and follow the one everlasting King! Real peace is an elective process. No ads, no slick speeches, and no quick fixes. We have a choice: an election or a decision to “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.”
Blessings!
