VISION 2012
| Sunday, I
shared our future vision for the church. I covered how we came to this
vision and its details. Our goal is to be a successful church.
What is a successful church? A successful church is a church that
pleases God. The following is a brief summary of what we discussed Sunday: Care – care means each member taking personal responsibility for their spiritual growth through daily prayer and Bible study. We want to commit to a daily time set aside with God. We will encourage that through devotional materials, testimonies, and the example set by our staff. We should do this "So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." -Colossians 1:10 Share – share means sharing God’s Word and fellowship together through Life Groups. We want to start as many new Life Groups as possible. This means seven days a week at any location, as well as here on Sunday morning. If you would like to start a new Life Group or be a part of one, contact a church staff member. We are called to "consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another." -Hebrews 10:24-25 Dare – dare means taking faith risks. We want to challenge each member through giving, volunteerism, service, missions, and visitation to step into some new area of Faith where your faith can be challenged by new steps. Remember: "Without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." -Hebrews 11:6 In the coming days the Building Study Committee will introduce a second component of the 2012 Vision to be considered and voted on in relationship to our facilities. But our real growth will be spiritual and numerical by embracing Care/Share/Dare. We grow through the power of God and people reaching people. I look forward to the year ahead of us.
